Country Residence in the Heart of Burgundy
The medieval town of Mont Saint Jean is ideally located in the heart of Burgundy with its rich mixture of antiquity, architecture, wine, food and picturesque countryside. Mont Saint Jean is well known for its annual antique fair (held usually mid August), which attracts about 10,000 visitors. Bed and breakfast travelers will also discover that many cultural sites and towns are within easy reach such as Saulieu, Pouilly-en-Auxois and Dijon with their shopping, restaurants and leisure activities. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, golfing, horseback riding or just relaxing. Nearby Morvan National Park offers another host of outdoor opportunities for bed and breakfast travelers seeking to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Château Les Roches offers travelers the experience of staying in a private country residence with just six guest bedrooms. The setting of Les Roches is picturesque and tranquil where one can unwind and feel completely relaxed. The spacious bedrooms, each with private en-suites, were completely renovated in 2005 and are decorated with both antique and contemporary furnishings.
Guests can enjoy Burgundy wines from the Les Roches wine cellar in the salon, library, terrace or any of the seating areas in the Les Roches park. Home-cooked dinners are offered twice per week (Thursdays and Saturdays) using regional and seasonal ingredients. The dinner experience begins with an aperitif in the salon, four-course meal in the dining room or terrace and ends with a coffee or tea in the library.
